Three rackets playing categories

GREEn · Blue · black

At Three Rackets, we are intentional about how we build our racket sports community. We understand that some members are ambitious to improve their game and push themselves to the next level, while others enjoy getting a great workout, playing their sport and spending time with friends. We want everyone to find their place at Three Rackets.

For some players, it's 60% about friendships and banter, 30% about getting a great workout and 10% about picking up a few wins. For others, winning might be the biggest motivation, followed by improving their fitness and making connections.

We believe most people want a combination of these things, but we don't all value them in the same way.

One Club, Three Sports

We are one Three Rackets community, but we recognise that everyone has a different relationship with each sport

Someone might be a Black-category squash player but a Green-category padel player. They might approach squash with a competitive mindset while enjoying padel purely for the social experience.

That's exactly what we want to encourage.

It will take time for our community to settle into the different categories, and we'll learn and adapt together as the club grows.

Ultimately, the categories are about helping everyone find the right experience, build connections and get the most out of being part of Three Rackets.

Whats your category

In a nod to Colorado's incredible ski slopes, we're introducing three playing categories: Green, Blue and Black.

The idea is simple. We want members to build connections with other players who share similar abilities, expectations and motivations.

After all, someone looking to unwind, enjoy a few rallies and have a laugh might not have the best experience playing against someone whose main focus is winning every point. Their expectations and motivations aren't necessarily aligned, and we want to create an environment where both players can enjoy the experience they're looking for.

Our three core values are Fellowship, Ambition and Sportsmanship, and we want these values to shape every experience at the club. That means creating an environment where players feel welcome, have opportunities to challenge themselves and always treat one another with respect.

Three Rackets will offer three levels of Open Plays from beginner to advanced. Open Plays are an opportunity to meet the community, improve your game, and get on court with players at a similar level. How will levels work?

Green — Beginner

New players, learning fundamentals, building confidence and meeting other players.

blue — intermediate

Comfortable with the basics, developing consistency, strategy and competitive play.

black — advanced

Experienced players seeking intensity, advanced tactics and strong competition.

Three Rackets Core Values

Fellowship: friendship, camaraderie and community. Three Rackets is committed to nurturing an environment where members form lasting, meaningful friendships, support each other's growth, celebrate each other's successes and enjoy shared experiences.

Ambition: Encouraging every member to pursue their fullest potential, whether in their athletic endeavours, personal development, or contribution to others in the Three Rackets community. We inspire members to set and achieve high goals, both individually and collectively as part of the Three Rackets team.

Sportsmanship: We uphold the highest standards of integrity, respect, and fairness in every aspect of the game. At Three Rackets, we encourage members to compete with honour, and support everyone in our community with kindness and compassion. This will enable the building of a shared, inclusive environment that can be enjoyed by all.
