Challenge sessions

Play · Connect · Grow

At Three Rackets, we believe racket sports should be about more than just winning. Some players come to connect with friends, meet new people and enjoy the social side of the game. Others are focused on improving their skills, challenging themselves and progressing to the next level.

Challenge Sessions won't appeal to everyone, and that's absolutely fine! For some members, Three Rackets is about enjoying a game with friends, having a drink afterwards and being part of a community. Improving their rating might not be important to them, and we value that just as much as the competitive side of our club.

We'll also offer Open Plays and Clinics that welcome players of all rating levels, providing opportunities to enjoy the game, meet new people and develop your skills without the pressure of competitive ratings.

For those who do enjoy testing themselves, tracking their progress and working towards the next level, our Challenge Sessions provide that opportunity.

To support players of different abilities, Three Rackets has three playing categories: Green, Blue and Black.

Our Challenge Sessions are designed to help players discover their current playing level, improve the accuracy of their rating and challenge themselves against different opponents.

Whether you're a Green player looking to move into Blue, or a Blue player aiming for Black, these sessions provide a fun, competitive and supportive environment to test your game.

How Challenge Sessions Work

Each Challenge Session is limited to 8 players over 2 hours, maximising playing time and giving everyone plenty of opportunities to compete.

Players will rotate throughout the session, playing with and against each of the other seven opponents. It's a great opportunity to meet new players, expand your playing group and identify areas of your game to improve.

A Three Rackets team member will host the session, organise games, record scores and submit results to the appropriate rating system:

  • Padel: National Padel Rating Program (NPRP)

  • Pickleball: Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR)

And don't worry, there will still be time for drink breaks!

Challenge Sessions Available

We aim to offer two sessions per month for each category, with one weekday and one weekend opportunity.

Three Rackets-led. A dedicated host welcomes players, organises rotations that give everyone the opportunity to play with stronger players and then with those at a different level, encourages connections and makes sure everyone feels included. It's a slightly different approach to open play than you might find at other clubs, but we think once you experience it, you're going to love it.

Community Open Play - free to members

Member-led. Three Rackets reserves the courts, and players take the lead in organising their own games and rotations. It's a relaxed, flexible way to get on court, meet other members and enjoy some great matches. Whether you're coming with friends or turning up on your own, everyone is encouraged to get involved, mix things up and make sure all players feel welcome. It's your court time, your community and your chance to play!
